Ca' Foscari and the coronavirus crisis

In the wake of the coronavirus outbreak in Italy, Ca’ Foscari University has adopted a series of measures over the last month in order to protect the safety and health of students, faculty and staff.

These measures became even more extensive and rigorous after March 11, when the Italian government ordered the entire nation to “shelter in place”. As a result, the university is currently carrying out teaching and evaluation activities remotely until further notice, and almost all staff members are working in their homes to guarantee services. Updates information can be found at the Ca’ Foscari COVID-19 online information hub.

While many positive things unite the two great nations of Italy and China, they now also have one much less welcome commonality: the shared fight against the coronavirus.

The university has received numerous communications of support, and even received generous shipments of protective masks from Chinese partner institutions and universities. For all of them, the Ca’ Foscari community is profoundly grateful.

All of us are in this fight together, and it is as a global community that we will overcome the challenge of COVID-19.
