The Suzhou Office coordinates an Italian language course for Marco Polo students

In spite of the challenges that the pandemic presents, Ca' Foscari continues to work with its Chinese partners thanks to the facilitation of the Suzhou Office.

Among the office's most recent projects is the launch of an Italian language course for Chinese students enrolling in the Marco Polo Programme at Ca' Foscari this year. The course was organized in collaboration with partner agency Rui Yi Xing and with the support of Ca' Foscari's ITALS research team, which focuses on the teaching of Italian to foreigners and research related to this activity.
Participating students benefit from this initial introduction to the Italian language before traveling to Venice to begin an intensive programme of linguistic enrichment at Ca' Foscari or other Italian higher education institutions.
In designing and proposing the course, Ca' Foscari aims to provide additional didactic support to the incoming Marco Polo cohort so that their transition to learning in Italy is as smooth as possible. The course is divided in two phases - the first transpires in Hefei, while the second takes place online with mother-tongue Italian instructors provided by Ca' Foscari.
