Admission

For academic year 2020/21 the Master’s degree in Language and management to China is a limited admission programme. It requires personal preparation and minimum credit requirements as well as passing the admission test.

Enrolment is based on the position of the candidate on the ranking list.

Students holding an international qualification must request the preliminary evaluation of their qualifications.

Certified understanding of English language at B2 is also required, to be shown at the moment of enrolment. 

Process of verification and cases of exemption are indicated in the specific section.

All the information on the admission deadlines procedures for degree programmes for the A.Y. 2020/2021 are in the selection announcement that will be published towards the middle of May.

Minimum curricular requirements

Minimum credit requirements (ECTS): 36 ETCS in the following scientific disciplinary sectors:

In the fields of Languages and Literatures

  • L-OR/21 Chinese and South Asian languages and literatures

6 ETCS in the following scientific disciplinary sectors:

Fields of History, Political and Social sciences

  • M-STO/01 Medieval History
  • M-STO/02 Modern History
  • M-STO/03 History of Eastern Europe
  • M-STO/04 Contemporary History
  • SPS/14 History and Institutions of Asia
  • L-OR/23 History of East and South-East of Asia

In the case in which students are not in possession of the curricula requirements, they must retrieve them before enrollment exclusively by carrying out single programmes (Bachelor’s Degree level) at this or another university.

Personal preparation

Personal preparation will be verified by the Teaching Committee throughout CV and the oral interview.

Students who have the following qualifications are normally considered in possession of personal preparation:

  • a minimum degree grade equal to 90/110
  • 36 credits in the scientific-disciplinary sector L-OR/21 -Language and Literature of China and South-East Asia;

  • 6 credits in one of the following scientific-disciplinary and similar sectors (whose content related to the History of China): L-OR/23 - History of East and South East and Southeast Asia; SPS/14 - History and Institutions of Asia.; M-STO/01 Medieval History; M-STO/02 Modern History; M-STO/03 Eastern EUropean History; M-STO/04 Contemporary History

Verification of the possession of 6 ECTS in the field of history for admission in case the credits are undertaken in the scientific-disciplinary sector M-STO/01, M-STO/02, M-STO/03 and/or M-STO/04, will be done so through program/s of exams

All curricula, at the discretion of the Board or its delegates to the evaluation of access requirements, can accept applications which, although partially defect claims in the scientific areas of specialization language sector, are accompanied by certificates attesting to the attendance of language courses conducted in countries where the target language is the official language. In this case, the Board reserves the right to evaluate the certifications and possibly to require an applicant to an oral exam.

The admissions process is as follows:

  • online registration, if you are not already enrolled at Ca’ Foscari;
  • pre-enrolment for the admissions test;
  • carrying out the admissions test and placement on ranking list;
  • online enrolment and payment of the first installment of tax and university fees

If you are a candidate with a disability or suffering from DSA, you can make use of the individualised application for carrying out the admissions test; all the specific information on available assistance is in the admissions announcement and on the webpage for services for disabled and DSA students; the request will be available during the online pre-enrolment.

Online enrolment

Pre-enrolment for the admissions test will be on the July 1st until 12pm on August 4th 2020.

How to pre-enrol

Before proceeding, remember to arrange in electronic format:

  • Your degree self-certification (enrolment if you are a student) with signed exams (in which is indicated: University where you achieved the qualification, class and degree programme, degree date and grade, exams taken with the relative scientific-disciplinary sector and the weight in credits): Verify if the self-certification, completed with all the aforementioned information, can be printed from the Personal Area of the host University website: alternatively, use the model of self-certification on this page;
  • Your resume;
  • Your English language certification attesting at least a B2 level or useful documentation to show that you are subject to one of the provided cases of exemption;

With your Username and Password assigned to you at the end of the registration procedure, you must access the Personal Area following this path: Servizi Segreteria Studenti - ESSE3 > Test di ammissione (Secretary Services for Students - ESSE3 > Admissions Test).

Once you have concluded the enrolment procedure, you will receive a confirmation email to the address stated when you registered.

If you want to request one of the assistances provided for candidates that are disabled or diagnosed with DSA for taking the admissions test, you must fill in the specific section for procedure of online enrolment and attach a certificate demonstrating possession of the disability/impediment.

Enrolment Fee

Participation in the admissions test requires payment of a fee totalling 30 Euros, that should be paid after having completed the enrolment procedure online, by selection the “payment” button.


Admission Test

The admissions test will take place remotely on Thursday 20th August 2020.

The details regarding how this will occur at and what time will be communicated via email a few days before the closure of the registration period.

Please note that in order to take the entry test you will need to have the following:

  • a personal computer;
  • a smartphone or tablet;
  • an internet connection via Wi-Fi or a smartphone.

Place acceptance and matriculation

The procedure for accepting your place requires acceptance on behalf of the successful candidate and of those in the second round of selection depending on the available remaining places as indicated in the call for admission. Any remaining places after the second round of selection may be reassigned.

If you succeed in obtaining a place from the ranking list, you must accept your place through the specific online procedure by 1st September 2020.

Graduated

Please note that the procedure for accepting a place on the course coincides with registration and involves two steps: 

  • Completion of the enrolment application form online;
  • Paying the first instalment of tuition fees: the payment must be carried out using the PagoPA system by pressing the payment button that will generate upon completion of the online enrolment application form. The first instalment of tuitions will not be reimbursed in any circumstance.

Accepting your place

The procedure for accepting a place on the course involves two steps:

Enrolment

If you have accepted your place correctly in the summer session you will be enroled between the 18th of November and the 17th of December 2020.

The enrolment procedure involves two steps:

  • Updating the enrolment application online. Once you have chosen your Master’s Degree programme, you can change the application you submitted when you accepted your place by adding information on the academic qualifications you have obtained and other attachments relevant to enrolment. You must also include self-certification for m listing degrees obtained and exams taken.
  • Paying the first instalment of tuition fees: the payment must be carried out using the PagoPA system by pressing the payment button that will generate upon completion of the online enrolment application form. The first instalment of tuitions will not be reimbursed in any circumstance.
