Lena Herzog

Lena Herzog is an American photographer and artist, who uses a multidisciplinary and conceptual approach in her works. Born in Russia, she became a US citizen in 1990 and currently lives in Los Angeles. Her work is acclaimed worldwide. It deals with issues such as ritual and gesture, loss and dislocation. She has explored the intersection between art and science both as a subject and as a process. In her printing work she utilizes early photographic, contemporary and alternative experimental techniques, as well as cutting-edge sounds, immersive installations and virtual reality for her multimedia projects. Presently, her “Last Whispers: An Immersive Oratorio for Vanishing Voices, Collapsing Universes and a Falling Tree”, produced with the SOAS-University of London and under the aegis of Unesco, is shown at the CFZ library, at Ca' Foscari University.
