Sepideh Siyāvashi

Sepideh Siyāvashi was born in 1986 in Ahvaz, southwestern Iran, a region well known especially for the bloody war events that occurred during the ten-year conflict between Iran and Iraq. She made her debut with short stories published in magazines dedicated to the adolescent audience. Later, she moved to Tehran where she obtained a Master's Degree in Linguistics. After completing her university studies, she devoted herself to teaching Persian for foreigners and organizing creative writing courses. In 2011 Siyāvashi published her first collection of short stories “Laugh in Persian” (“ فارسی بخند ”) which won the prestigious Iranian literary award Hushang Golshiri. Her second collection “Midnight Palace” (“عمارت نیمه‌شب” ), printed  in Tehran in 2016, will be presented for the first time in Italian translation.
