Starting from the academic year 2019/2020, Ca’ Foscari University of Venice - Department of Humanities (DSU) has started a partnership with Universitè de Grenoble Alpes (France) in order to realize a joint programme, by integrating the educational paths of both Universities and giving students and Professors the possibility to carry out mobility periods abroad. 

At the end of the two-year programme, students will receive a double degree:

  • Laurea Magistrale in Storia dal Medioevo all’età contemporanea from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice;
  • Master Spécialité Histoire parcours Histoire culturelle politique et des échanges internationaux from Université de Grenoble Alpes.

For Ca’ Foscari students selected for the programme, the educational path includes a mobility of one or two semesters at Université de Grenoble Alpes during the second year of master’s degree. The courses taken at the partner University will be recognized at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.

Admission requirements

The programme is reserved for students enrolled in the master’s degree in History from the Middle Age to Present at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.

The call for applications is published every year in Spring.

During the selections, applicants must demonstrate knowledge of French language level B1. 

How to apply

To be able to participate in the selection process, it is necessary to apply following the procedures and deadlines reported in the call for applications, published annually.

Double/joint degree selection results will be published on this webpage according to the specific timeline mentioned in the Annex A.

Equivalences between the courses of Université Grenoble Alpes and the courses of Ca’ Foscari University

Selected students shall contact the academic coordinator of the double degree programme (prof. Luciano Pezzolo), in order to arrange the study plan and decide the exams to be taken abroad, according to the equivalences between the courses of Université Grenoble Alpes and the courses of Ca’ Foscari University.

Study period abroad

Students will be contacted by the staff of the Counseling and Welcome Unit for information about the procedures to carry out before, during and after the mobility period, taking place in the third (and eventually fourth) semester.

Information about scholarship possibilities can be found in the annual call for applications.

All students will be required to submit a Learning Agreement, listing all the academic activities they are planning to take abroad which will be recognized in their study plan after the completion of the mobility.

Graduation

In order to present the request to graduate, students must follow the standard procedure for all Ca’ Foscari students.
The topic of the master’s thesis must be agreed with a supervisor from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and a co-supervisor from Université de Grenoble Alpes.
