Starting from the academic year 2019/2020, Ca’ Foscari University of Venice - Department of Humanities (DSU) has started a partnership with Université Toulouse Jean Jaurès (France) in order to realize a joint programme, by integrating the educational paths of both Universities and giving students and Professors the possibility to carry out mobility periods abroad. 

At the end of the two-year programme, students will receive a double degree:

  • Laurea Magistrale in Scienze dell’antichità: letterature, storia e archeologia from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice;
  • Master Mondes Anciens from Université Toulouse Jean Jaurès.

For Ca’ Foscari students selected for the programme, the educational path includes a mobility of one academic year at Université Toulouse Jean Jaurès during the first or second year of master’s degree. Students will be required to obtain 60 ECTS at the partner University and those credits will be recognized in the study plan of the master’s degree at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.

Admission requirements

The programme is reserved for students enrolled in the master’s degree in Ancient Civilisations: Literature, History and Archaeology at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.

The call for applications is published every year in Spring.

During the selections, applicants must demonstrate knowledge of French language level B1. At the end of the mobility period students will reach the level B2.

How to apply

To be able to participate in the selection process, it is necessary to apply following the procedures and deadlines reported in the call for applications, published annually.

Double/joint degree selection results will be published on this webpage according to the specific timeline mentioned in the Annex A.

Equivalences between the courses of Université Toulouse Jean Jaurès and the courses of Ca’ Foscari University

Selected students shall contact the academic coordinator of the double degree programme (prof. Stefania De Vido) in order to arrange the study plan and decide the exams to be taken abroad, according to the equivalences between the courses of Université Toulouse Jean Jaurès and the courses of Ca’ Foscari University.

Study period abroad

Students will be contacted by the staff of the Counseling and Welcome Unit for information about the procedures to carry out before, during and after the mobility period, taking place in the first or second academic year.

Information about scholarship possibilities can be found in the annual call for applications.

All students will be required to submit a Learning Agreement, listing all the academic activities they are planning to take abroad, which will be recognized in their study plan after the completion of the mobility.

Graduation

The topic of the master’s thesis must be agreed with a supervisor from Ca’ Foscari University and a co-supervisor from Université Toulouse Jean Jaurès.

In order to present the request to graduate, students who carried out the mobility period during the first year must follow the standard procedure for all Ca’ Foscari students.

Students who carried out the mobility period in the second year will be able to start the procedure to request the diploma of Ca’ Foscari University, after the thesis defense at the partner University.

Both diplomas will be legally recognized in the countries of issuance.
