Disability services

The libraries are committed to offering equality of service to all users and provide facilities for those with special needs.

The volunteers of the National Civil Service (project 2016-2017) have mapped all the campuses to identify disabled access routes, disabled work stations and technological aids in the libraries.

Arts and Humanities Library (BAUM)

The library, located in the Malcanton Marcorà building, has disabled access via a large metal ramp. Two dedicated disabled work stations are located on the ground floor and first floor. Library staff accompany disabled visitors in the elevator (operated by keys) to move between the four floors. There are disabled toilets on the ground floor and first floor.

Economics and Management Library (BEC)

The building is easily accessible from Piazzale Roma and the train station. All entrances are free of architectural barriers and fitted with ramps. The three floors of the building can be accessed via several staircases, all with handrails, positioned strategically inside the building. A spacious lift reaches all three floors of the library. There are disabled toilets on every floor.

The entrance to the building is connected to the street by a ramp. The various floors of the building are accessible via stairs with handrails that also allow you to reach the mezzanine floors not served by the elevator. The library offers a consultation station with a keypad for the visually impaired. An elevator, accessible from the entrance via a ramp, travels between the main floors of the building and reaches the library located on the second floor. There is a disabled toilet with a ramp on the ground floor.

Library of American, Iberian and Slavic Studies (AMERIBE)

The entrance has a staircase with handrails as well as another two staircases that lead to the different floors of the building. Two elevators, operated using a key, to be requested from the porter, are available for disabled access to the library located on the first floor.

Library of Eurasian Studies (EURASIA)

The building can be accessed via a ramp; it is made up of two wings that can be reached by stairs with handrails. In the new wing of the building, there is an elevator, operated using a key, to be requested at the front desk (at the entrance of the building), which travels to the second floor. To reach the library, once out of the elevator, there is a metal walkway that connects this part of the building with the old wing. The library, on the second floor, offers a disabled work station with a keypad for the visually impaired.

Library of Studies on East Asia (ASIA-OR)

The library is located on the first floor of the building and can be reached from the main staircase, fitted with a handrail, or by elevator, which is operated using a key, to be requested at the information desk on the first floor (phone +39 (0)41 2349511). There is a disabled toilet on the ground floor, reached by a ramp from the courtyard of the building, through a fire door.

Library of European and Postcolonial Studies (SLLEP)

The entrance of the building, on the Fondamenta Zattere, is equipped with a ramp. The different floors, including that of the library, are accessed via the stairs with handrail or by the elevator located a short distance from the entrance of the building and easily accessible. There are disabled toilets on the ground floor, near the entrance, and on the first floor in the library.
