Starting from the academic year 2022/23, the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Heritage of Ca’ Foscari University of Venice has started a cooperation with Bordeaux Montaigne University (France) for the creation of a double degree agreement.

The agreement leads to the award of:

  • Laurea Magistrale in Scienze Filosofiche dell’Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia;
  • Master Mention Philosophie - percorso “Recherches philosophiques sur la nature, l’homme et la société” dell'Université Bordeaux Montaigne.

Admission requirements

Curricula

The double degree programme is reserved for students enrolled in every curricula of the master’s degree in Philosophical Sciences at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.

Language requirement

Applicants must have a B2 level of French language proficiency which will be assessed at selection stage. 

How to apply

To be able to participate in the selection process, it is necessary to apply following the procedures and deadlines reported in the call for applications, published annually.

Double/joint degree selection results will be published on this webpage according to the specific timeline mentioned in the Annex A.

Study plan

After the selection, students must contact the academic coordinator of the programme (prof. Stefano Maso) to arrange the study plan according to the equivalences among courses defined in the double degree agreement between Bordeaux Montaigne University and Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. 

Study period abroad

Students will be contacted by the staff of the Welcome Unit for information about the procedures to carry out before, during and after the mobility period, taking place in the second academic year.

Information about scholarship possibilities can be found in the annual call for applications.

All students will be required to submit a Learning Agreement, listing all the academic activities they are planning to take abroad which will be recognized in their study plan after the completion of the mobility.

Graduation

Students will defend the final thesis in front of a joint Committee. The preparation, submission and defense mode will be agreed by the two partner institutions.

After having received the Ca’ Foscari master’s degree, it will be possible to request the degree of the partner institution. Both diplomas will be legally recognized in the countries of issuance.
