The Double Degree Programme "Master Neuere Deutsche Literatur Göttingen - Venedig (M.A.)" is a new Master's Degree jointly created by Ca' Foscari University and Georg-August-Universität Göttingen.

The Programme offers students in the Master's Degree Programme of European, American and Postcolonial Languages and Literatures - German Studies at Ca' Foscari University the opportunity to follow an international course of study, attending courses of the second academic year at the partner University and obtaining the degree from both Universities.

The stay at Georg-August-Universität Göttingen includes attending seminars on modern German literature, its mediation and its professional applications; it includes a curricular internship and thesis writing.

At the end of the course of study, students will obtain a double degree:

  • Master's degree in European, American and Postcolonial Languages and Literatures from Ca' Foscari University of Venice;
  • Master Neuere Deutsche Literatur Göttingen - Venedig (M.A.) from the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen.

Who can apply

To participate in the program, the applicant must enroll in the Master's Degree Programme in European, American and Postcolonial Languages and Literatures - German studies at Ca' Foscari University of Venice, following the relevant enrolment procedures.

Students who are already enrolled in the Master's Degree  Programme in European, American and Postcolonial Languages and Literatures - German studies may also apply for the selections.

For admission to the program, applicants must prove a proficiency in German (level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) and English (level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

How to apply

To be able to participate in the selection process, it is necessary to apply following the procedures and deadlines reported in the call for applications, published annually.

Double/joint degree selection results will be published on this webpage according to the specific timeline mentioned in the Annex A.

Study period abroad

The program envisages a mobility period at the partner University lasting one academic year, in the second year of the Master's Degree Programme.

Students will be contacted by the staff of the Welcome Unit for information regarding the procedures to be carried out before, during and after the mobility.

Information about scholarship possibilities can be found in the annual call for applications.

All students are required to submit a Learning Agreement listing all academic activities to be carried out abroad, that will be recognized in their study plan at the end of the period.

Graduation

After having graduated at the partner University, it will be possible to start the procedure to request the diploma of Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. Both degrees will be legally recognized in the countries of issuance.
