Prof. Calvetti is awarded the Order of the Rising Sun-Gold Rays with Ribbon

On 3 November 2023 the Government of Japan awarded Paolo Calvetti, Full Professor of Japanese Language and Linguistics at Ca' Foscari, with the 'Order of the Rising Sun-Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon' for his staunch activity in Japan and Italy, and for his contribution to promoting academic exchange and mutual understanding between the two countries.

Winckelmann’s tragic demise in 1768, at the Osteria Grande in Trieste, is the starting point of Dr. Sean Williams latest podcast, “Death in Trieste”, a series of 5 episodes produced by BBC Radio 3. Williams - Senior Lecturer at the University of Sheffield - carried out the research work behind the series at the Venice Centre for Digital and Public Humanities, part of the Ca' Foscari Department of Humanities.
