QS World University Ranking, Ca' Foscari University of Venice gains hundreds of positions in the prestigious international ranking. It is now in the 661-670 range (last year it was in the 801-1000 range) and ranks 21st in Italy. In terms of improved ranking since last year, Ca’ Foscari can claim the second best result in Italy.

Ca' Foscari also stands out for some specific indicators: out of more than 1,500 universities, it ranks 235th in the world  (eighth in Italy) with reference to sustainability, and it is in the top 500 universities in the world for the number of International faculty (3rd Italy). Ca’ Foscari also ranks in the top 500 world universities for academic reputation (16th in Italy).

On its 20th anniversary, QS World Ranking has updated the methodological approach by introducing three new metrics: the above mentioned Sustainability (Ca’ Foscari performed particularly well with reference to this indicator), and also Employment Outcomes and International Research Network. Ca’ Foscari is in line with all the new indicators (which were required by the international student community) and is showing great progress.

Ca' Foscari’s Rector Tiziana Lippiello says: "Year after year, Ca' Foscari has been improving its teaching and scientific quality by gradually building an increasingly international academic and student community, open to the world. I am particularly pleased to learn that our University has climbed many positions in the ranking since last year: Factors such as sustainability and international research networks were taken into account - two areas in which Ca' Foscari has been at the forefront for many years and which are now indispensable in the evaluation of universities".
