Ca' Foscari University of Venice boasts four disciplines in the world Top 100 in the new edition of the QS World University Rankings by subject, which is consulted by over 50 million students every year. Ca' Foscari is among the best universities in the world for Classical Studies and Ancient History (45th in ranking), Modern Languages (69th in the overall ranking and 3rd in Italy), History (3rd in the national ranking) and Hospitality and Leisure management (1st again among Italian universities).

Our University also ranks among the top 140 universities worldwide for Theology. This discipline has entered the ranking for the first time and was among the top 150 in Archaeology, Philosophy, and Anthropology. Excellent results were also achieved in Linguistics (2nd in the Italian ranking), Geography (3rd in the national ranking), and Economics and Econometrics (5th in Italy), which were acknowledged in the world's Top 200. Also in the rankings are Accounting and Finance, Business and Management, Computer Science and, for the first time, Statistics & Operational Research.

To compile this year's ranking, the QS - Quacquarelli Symonds team analysed the academic and business reputation and research outputs of almost 5,000 institutions worldwide. The prestigious international ranking confirmed Ca' Foscari's achievements in recent years, acknowledging Ca’ Foscari’s excellence in many leading areas of teaching and research.

The Rector Tiziana Lippiello's words echo our university's commitment to excellence and innovation. She states, "The QS World University Rankings by subject reconfirms Ca' Foscari's international vocation and the quality of our research and teaching. This outcome is a testament to our university's investments in recruiting faculty and students and our unwavering commitment to interdisciplinary education. We believe that investing in quality means training graduates who can make a name for themselves worldwide and make a significant impact on global challenges. We are proud of the achievements the Italian university system reaches, despite receiving less funding than its major competitors in the world. These achievements should serve as an incentive to invest more in education in an increasingly global perspective."
