Joint Summer School organised by Ca' Foscari and ADA University

In the third week of June 2022, a Summer School jointly organized by Ca' Foscari and the ADA Institute for Development and Diplomacy took place on the ADA University campus in Baku.
Entitled "Redefining the EU’s role in EaP [Eastern Partnership] in the New Decade", the Summer School is the first of a series of short, intensive courses that form part of the Jean Monnet Module "Enhancing capacity for EU-EaP resilient cooperation within new EaP beyond 2020 policy objectives: perspectives from Azerbaijan" that was jointly developed by Ca' Foscari and ADA. 

Archaeology conference at Ca' Foscari exploring "Timing Cultural Changes in the Southern Caucasus: Where do we stand with absolute chronology from Late Chalcolithic to the Iron Age?"

Azerbaijan is in the spotlight on January 20 and 21, when Ca' Foscari archaeologists and international colleagues gather for a conference on archaeological research in the South Caucasus.

Marie Curie Fellow expands our understanding of Venetian-Safavid relations

Ahmad Guliyev came to Ca' Foscari with a Marie Curie Fellowship to explore the Venetian Republic's relationship with the Safavids, studying historic documents - some of which he discovered for the first time - as well as the material culture of diplomatic gifts such as fabrics and carpets.

Edizioni Ca' Foscari publishes a new Eurasiatica volume

Edited by Prof. Carlo Frappi of Ca' Foscari and Prof. Fabio Indeo, the volume, entitled "Monitoring Central Asia and the Caspian Area: Development Policies, Regional Trends and Italian Interests", includes an essay focusing on the Caspian Sea area. 

A recently published volume by Prof. Giovanni De Zorzi explores the tradition of Mugham

The book is entitled "Maqām: percorsi tra le musiche d'arte in area mediorientale e centrasiatica" (Maqām: Explorations of the Musical Arts in the Middle East and Central Asia). 

Azerbaijani language course about to begin at Ca' Foscari

On February 7 the first lesson of the Azerbaijani language course, held by Prof. Elisabetta Ragagnin, will be held at Ca' Cappello. The course is devoted to the second year students of the bachelor’s degree programme entitled "Language, Culture and Society of Asia and Mediterranean Africa”.
