Conference

Venice School of Management (VSM) and Center for Automotive and Mobility Innovation (CAMI) of Ca' Foscari University of Venice invite scholars and researchers to submit their contributions to the upcoming conference on Mobility and Transport Solutions for Societal Challenges, which will take place in Venice (Italy), 15-16 October 2026.
The conference will focus on exploring cutting-edge policies, innovative solutions, and business models addressing societal challenges in the field of mobility and transport.
We look forward to welcoming you to Venice for an engaging exchange of ideas on the future of mobility and transport.

Thematic areas

The conference will feature three primary tracks. We encourage submissions aligned with the following topics, but also welcome contributions on related themes that explore innovative approaches to mobility and transport challenges.

1) Policies

  • 15-minute cities: determinants, feasibility and implementation process

Submissions
Key dates and deadlines

Please note that due to the characteristics of the venue, the number of participants is limited. In case of requests exceeding the available space, priority will be given to requests accepted in chronological order of submission.

Abstract submission
  • Submit a long abstract (800-1000 words) by July 31, 2025.
  • Notification of acceptance: by October 30, 2025.

The relevance of contributions to major current and future social challenges is a key selection criterion.

Full paper submission

Accepted abstracts are expected to be developed into full papers. Final papers should be a maximum of 5000 words, including all sections. However, high-quality papers longer than 5000 words will be considered.

  • The submission deadline for the final paper is March 1, 2026.
Review process
  • Authors of papers submitted by the deadline will receive the confirmation of acceptance, and a feedback indicating the session to attend by May 2026.

Due to the limited number of places, confirmation of participation will be required within one week of notification.

Poster session

Scholars are welcome to present their ongoing research in a dedicated poster session.

  • The submission deadline for the posters is February 28, 2026.
  • Notification of acceptance: March 31, 2026.

Journal special issue

The International Journal of Automotive Technology and Management will dedicate a special issue to the best papers presented at the conference.

Conference proceedings

All the abstracts of papers accepted and presented at the conference will be published in a book of abstracts by Ca’ Foscari University Publishing. Selected papers will be considered for additional publication opportunity in a dedicated volume.

Venue

The conference will be held on the Island of San Servolo, at the Venice International University (VIU).

The island is connected to the city center (San Zaccaria, near San Marco) by public boats running every 40 minutes. The journey takes 10 minutes.
