Conference in Memory of Valeria Solesin: gender inequality and the role of women in society

Demographics, economics and sociology with a focus on gender inequality, the role of women in the workplace and in society, targeted welfare policies to help combine family life and work: these are the themes of the conference in memory of Valeria Solesin entitled Come on girls, let's work! Allez les filles, au travail! Forza ragazze, al lavoro!. The conference is scheduled for Friday, November 11th at Ca’ Dolfin, one of the building of the Ca' Foscari University of Venice, starting at 10am.

The conference has been organized by the Department of Economics at Ca’ Foscari, along with the University of Trento, Pantheon-Sorbonne University and INED - Institut National d'Etudes démographiques.

The event will open with a welcome from the Rector of Ca’ Foscari Michele Bugliesi, the President of the Venice Municipal Council Ermelinda Damiano and the President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies Laura Boldrini.

During the conference, the ResearchForValeria prize will also be awarded to two young doctoral students, Alzbeta Mullerova from the Paris West University Nanterre La Défense, and Giulia Tura from the University of Bologna.
