Azerbaijan is among the destinations of the Ca’ Foscari Travelers Club

For the fifth consecutive year, Azerbaijan was included among the destinations of the Ca’ Foscari Travelers Club, an initiative promoted by the university with the purpose of offering travel experiences focused on cultures, traditions and civilizations and with the accompaniment of exceptional guides. In fact, the Travelers Club visit to Azerbaijan was a direct result of the encounter between the academic excellence of Ca’ Foscari and the organizational and logistic excellence of the tour operator Metamondo, which specializes in organizing fascinating tours enriched by the prestigious participation of members of university’s faculty, who offer themselves as guides in the discovery and exploration of exceptional destinations. This innovative formula clearly differs from an ordinary group tour, both because of the historical, artistic and cultural richness of the proposed destinations, and because the planning of each itinerary is entrusted to a university professor with many years of experience working in and researching the destination country.

The tour guide of the trip to Azerbaijan was Prof. Carlo Frappi, professor of Azerbaijani contemporary history at Ca’ Foscari. In addition to a visit of the capital city, Baku, the 8-day tour also included the exploration of central and northern Azerbaijan, including cities rich in cultural heritage such as Shamakha, Lahij, Nij, Qakh and Sheki.
