Incroci di Civiltà 2026 begins with Ramin Bahrami: first international guests revealed

From 15 to 18 April 2026, Venice will once again become a crossroads of world literature with the 19th edition of Incroci di Civiltà.

On Wednesday 15 April at 5.30 p.m., the Festival’s opening ceremony will take place in the prestigious setting of the Teatro Stabile del Veneto Carlo Goldoni with a special event bringing together words and music.

One of the most eagerly anticipated moments of the programme is the concert by internationally acclaimed Iranian pianist Ramin Bahrami. Renowned and sophisticated interpreter of Bach, Bahrami will undoubtedly deliver a powerful performance.

Admission to the opening event is free, but booking is required and subject to availability. Booking grants access to the entire opening ceremony, including the concert, but the concert cannot be booked or attended separately.

Bookings for the event will open on 20 March 2026.

As we wait for the complete programme of the 2026 edition, we're excited to reveal that our guest lineup will feature Carol Ann Duffy, a highly respected and beloved voice in modern British poetry; writer and essayist Geoff Dyer, one of the most original voices on the British literary scene; and Indian photographer Dayanita Singh, an internationally acclaimed figure in the field of contemporary photography.
