The course falls within the educational activities that characterize the DATA ANALYTICS FOR BUSINESS AND SOCIETY degree course in Economics, which prepares students on aspects related to business and management of databases of various kinds.

The educational objective of the course is to provide knowledge relating to:
1 - business processes that characterize people management throughout the entire employee life cycle
2 - activities of the HR department and the integration with other company functions
3 – impact of digital transformation on HR processes and how data supports decision making
4 - how HR processes are changing under the pressure of powerful automation tools
5 – talent war: employer branding and HR marketing
6 – new paradigms within HR management and organization enabled by Artificial Intelligence
1. Knowledge and understanding
1.1. acquire knowledge of the main HR processes
1.2. acquire knowledge of the activities within each process that generates data relating to people
1.3. acquire knowledge about key metrics within every HR process

2. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding
2.1. knowing how to exemplify the entire employee life cycle in the company
2.2. knowing how to build different KPIs to measure labor performance
2.3. knowing how to identify the key data sources to build the KPIs

3. Judgment skills
3.1. knowing how to choose the most suitable indicators to support HR decisions
3.2. knowing how to critically evaluate the human and machine contribution within a process
General knowledge of the main functions of business organizations through the fundamental courses of the bachelor’s degree in economics.
The learning path starts with an entry test to evaluate the basic knowledge at individual and class level.

Having achieved the educational objectives of ENGLISH FOR ECONOMICS AND BUSINESS 1 [ET3006] even without having passed the exam.

- Data that characterize the different HR processes: recruiting, training, management, performance evaluation, organization, internal communication

- HR Analytics and HRIS platforms
- Employer branding, HR Marketing, and ATS platforms
The study path is laboratory-based and includes many exercises during the course.
Students not attending the course must contact the teacher at least 3 months before the exam date to receive the materials for the exercises.
The course includes two complementary ways of verifying learning:
- during the course, the students will carry out numerous individual and group exercises, in the classroom and at home, which will contribute to the formation of the final grade.
- at the end of the course the students will have 20 minutes to present a business case aiming to measure their ability to use data to make decisions. The business case will allow the students to add a maximum of 3 points to the final mark based on the mark achieved through the exercises.
