The third module "SUSTAINABLE EXPERIENCES" of the Minor "Integrated Sustainability" course aims to delve deeper into the topic of sustainable development by building sustainability observation skills on the example of specific initiatives at the local, regional and international levels (in national and international contexts). Attention will be paid to the spheres of culture (with an emphasis on heritage preservation), biodiversity preservation, tourism, university education, peacekeeping activities.
The module is based on both theoretical basis and experiential learning to deepen and apply the acquired knowledge in practice. Students will learn to understand today's global challenges related to the achievement of the SDGs based on the analysis of the activities of such international organizations as the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), UN WTO, FAO and others. Also, students will study aspects of the sustainability of the environments they are in (university, city, country). Through thematic seminars, students get the opportunity to discuss and interact with teachers and researchers from Ca' Foscari and other universities engaged in research activities on aspects related to sustainability and with leading experts and stakeholders in the implementation of sustainability in specific projects.
The training course will provide students of any profile with conceptual and practical tools to familiarize themselves with the ways of thinking and acting of different agents of sustainability implementation.
In this way, we intend to prepare young people to respond to the challenges of sustainable development by promoting the inclusion of sustainability in their personal "value system", which will allow them to be active in the integration of sustainability in all its dimensions.
The students will be able to successfully use various theoretical approaches and a wide range of tools based on the best practices research to implement sustainability in their future professional or public activities.
No specific prerequisites. All students will be invited to bring what they have learned to their degree course, making it available for interactive discussion with other students, teachers and experts.
