Goran Petrović Lotina is an author, scholar, and curator with a deep interest in exploring the intersection of performance, politics, and theory. Before completing his PhD in Art Science at Ghent University, he earned a master's degree in Art and Politics from Sciences Po: The Paris Institute of Political Studies, as well as master's and bachelor's degrees in History of Art from the University of Belgrade. Since 2018, he has taught at Sciences Po Paris, where he offers courses on the intersections of performance studies and political questions. Since 2023, he teaches the sociology of theater and performance at the Université catholique de Louvain. Petrović Lotina has been an MSCA Cofund Research Fellow at the University of Warwick since 2019, and in 2023, he assumed the MSCA research position at the University of Venice Ca' Foscari. His research is grounded in post-Marxist theories and primarily focuses on performance theory, analyzing how contemporary performances, whether civic or artistic, can challenge dominant policies and invigorate democracy. Petrović Lotina has received several research grants, including the Marie Curie (University of Venice, Ca' Foscari), Eutopia (CY Cergy Paris, declined), and Marie Curie Cofund (University of Warwick). His most recent publications include 'Choreographing Agonism: Politics, Strategies, and Performance of the Left' (Palgrave Macmillan 2021) and 'Performing Left Populism' (Bloomsbury 2023), co-edited with T. Aiolfi.

He has worked as an independent curator since 2000, collaborating with numerous artists and artistic institutions such as MoCA Belgrade, Kran Film Copenhagen, Moscow Biennale, Kaaitheater Brussels, AC South Florida, and Fogo Island Art – Newfoundland. He is also a member of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA) and collaborates with the European Union's Horizon Europe scientific research programme and European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA).
