Atmospheres

Sala B - Ca' Bernardo

As part of the international conference "Conceptualizing Atmospheres" (September 18–19, 2025), the recital "Atmospheres" offers a musical exploration of atmospheric experience through historically informed performance.

Presented by Anders Muskens (historical keyboard) — founder and artistic director of Das Neue Mannheimer Orchester — together with Hong Yu Wong (historical violin), the program features works by Antonio Vivaldi, Baldassarre Galuppi, Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, and Christian Friedrich Daniel Schubart.
Drawing on baroque and classical repertoire, the concert seeks to create and reflect on atmospheres as sensorial, temporal, and affective phenomena. The performance resonates with the themes of the conference by offering an experiential counterpart to the theoretical inquiries of the talks.

The event is supported by the PRIN PNRR 2022 research project "Atmospheres: What They Are and How They Are Grasped" (ATMOS), funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (Project code: P2022TY73E – CUP: H53D23009940001), and hosted by the Department of Linguistics and Comparative Cultural Studies at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.
