Od raja do beznjenice - a theatrical performance in Serbian

Aula Magna Silvio Trentin - Ca' Dolfin

The theatrical performance Od raja do beznjenice tells the tragic love story between Laza Kostić, one of the greatest Serbian poets, and Lenka Dunđerski – a young noblewoman, well-educated and refined, a central figure in the high society of her time, and the poet’s muse. The title, which can be translated as ‘From Paradise to a Life Without Her’, includes a neologism coined by Kostić himself – beznjenica – to express the pain of a life without his beloved. The drama is uniquely performed only in castles, palaces, and sites of cultural and historical significance. After stops in Budapest and Vienna, Venice is the final and most meaningful destination of the project, chosen for its profound historical and symbolic resonance.
The event is part of the project “In Lenka’s Constellation – Along the Paths of the Dunđerski”, which showcases the cultural heritage of Srbobran, Vojvodina, and Serbia, centered around the powerful Dunđerski family.

The event will be held in Serbian
