A poem in comics 1969 The uncomfortable masterpiece of Dino Buzzati

Aula Morelli

ZOOM ID 5127593100 Passcode 5x961iThe workshop dedicated to Poema a Comics is proposed as the first of the three meetings dedicated to "Buzzati, the inspiration of comics" (2021 - 2022), within the "Buzzati e il Segno" conference promoted by the DSLCC and the University of Chambéry, in collaboration with the Dino Buzzati International Association, to celebrate the memory of the Venetian writer and foreshadow new paths of reading and research. The fifty years that separate from the death of Dino Buzzati (San Pellegrino, Belluno, 1906 - January 26, 1972) have perfected the author's reception path by imposing him on attention as one of the greatest in the canon of European fiction. This is a still growing attention, which sees the public in the front row in agreement with the new affirmative critical appreciation, and which is linked to the primacy of the visual that, in the last years of existence, Buzzati had given to his proposals, with the Poema a fumetti (A poem in comics,1969) and I miracoli di Val Morel (1971), as well as the intensification of pictorial activity and personal interest in artistic expression. Celebrating therefore on the Ca 'Foscari campus and with the widest participation of the students, the talent of Dino Buzzati intends to underline the correlations between perception, writing and visualization in Buzzati, across the board, but starting above all from the spatialization processes observable both in the narrative corpus. and in the journalistic contributions, as and above all in the comic poem, without neglecting the reference poles of the Buzzatian imaginary: Venice and Milan, the city and the desert, the Dolomite landscape and the metropolis: irreconcilable poles of a "negative" dialectic between innocence and experience.
