Phoné | The voice in the creative languages of contemporaneity

Sala B, Ca' Bernardo

The conference aims to investigate the role of the phoné in the creative languages of the contemporary world (20th and 21st centuries). Even before being articulated in human and significant language, the voice has always been the trace of a presence and expression of a feeling. However, the voice goes beyond everything of which it refers and, as Mladen Dolar writes, it hardly means itself. It is a primordial gesture of man to which, however, it does not totally belong to anything. In continuous sharing, it is inappropriate, not only for those who listen to it, but also for those who issue it, search for it, imitate it. By examining the artistic-literary discourses in which this voice, or phoné, is an industrious gesture –poetry, performance, theatre, song, but also philosophy, psychology, linguistics, etc.– they will meet and dialogue experts of the most diverse disciplines, both artistic and scientific.
