Megadungeon: New Digital Volumetries in Art and Media

Aula Magna Ca' Dolfin; on line

The increasingly interconnected computational landscapes around us unfold into new hybrid spaces and spatial metaphors, challenging traditional understandings of virtuality. This one-day symposium invites speakers from diverse academic fields (including art history and exhibiting, media theory and human geography) to discuss around the speculative concept of the megadungeon, which borrows the labyrinthine layers where role-playing games are set to depict the stacked volumetries of digital infrastructures and the pervasive gamification of contemporary everyday experience.
