On the Politics of Fragments and the Perception of Lacunas. Science Diplomacy and Heritage

The Teatrino Palazzo Grassi welcomes the conference “On the Politics of Fragments and the Perception of Lacunas. Science Diplomacy and Heritage” dedicated to the intersection between artistic practice, research, diplomacy, and heritage to establish dialogue in an era of tension, climate change, and technological progress in which culture, the foundation of human identity, is often at risk. The topics addressed during the day include the use of artificial intelligence and satellite imagery for heritage conservation, the diplomatic dimensions of art and culture, and the negotiation of the restitution of museum collections.

The conference includes, at 2:30 p.m., a panel entitled “Heritage in an Era of Uncertainty” with Prof. Francesca Tarocco, Director of NICHE, in dialogue with Martina Schubert, Deputy Director, Diplomatic Academy Austria, Abdelrazek Elnaggar, EUTOPIA, Nadia von Maltzahn, Orient-Institut Beirut, Cengiz Günay, Director, Austrian Institute for International Affairs
