Venice Summer Workshop on Inequality and Vulnerability: Two Days of International Discussion at Ca’ Foscari

On July 10th-11th, 2026, the Department of Economics will host the Venice Summer Workshop on Inequality and Vulnerability, organized within the framework of the Venice Summer School on Inequality and Vulnerability (6-11 July). The event will bring together scholars from leading universities and research institutions around the world to discuss the latest scientific evidence on economic and social inequality, vulnerability, and policies aimed at promoting individual and collective well-being.

Organized by the Department of Economics of Ca’ Foscari University of Venice in collaboration with the Max Planck Institute, the workshop offers two days of interdisciplinary exchange focused on some of the most pressing challenges in contemporary economic research. Discussions will address topics such as civic engagement and compliance with social norms, access to healthcare in low-income countries, gender disparities in academic environments, the development of socio-emotional skills, active ageing, and the effects of domestic violence on the human capital of future generations.
