Venice – Vittorio Veneto November 3-5, 2025

In conjunction with the 110th Centenary of the Great War in Italy, 1915-2025, The Museum of the Battle of Vittorio Veneto and Ca' Foscari University - Department of Comparative Linguistic and Cultural Studies (Laboratory for the Literary Study of Comics), will carry out a joint activity in their respective exhibition venues and in the cultural spaces of Vittorio Veneto and Venice, with the organization of two main conferences and an international seminar, accompanied by educational exhibition initiatives, readings, film festivals. The focus is on the comparative representation of war in the three different media of photography, writing, graphics, illustration, comics and graphic novels. The general project arises from the attention to the anthropological components introduced into the representation of war and the interaction of languages in the composition of personal positions and individual testimonies, extracting cognitive models and social behaviors originally present in the narration of war but proving to be of much greater duration.
