De-Industrialization and Socio-Economic Adaptation in Eastern Europe

The workshop aims to reflect on the transformations that took place in Eastern Europe during the transition from late socialism to post-socialism. The focus will be on the adaptation practices that have taken shape in various social and economic spheres. Among the cases that will be examined are shipbuilding in Yugoslavia/Croatia and Poland, women's work in the textile sector in Croatia, the automotive industry in Czechoslovakia, and everyday life in Chernobyl, Ukraine.
