Inclusive Language and Translation: Between Norm, Usage, and Social Change

This conference addresses the topic of inclusive language within the field of translation, exploring its implications across linguistic norms, actual usage, and the dynamics of social change. Adopting an interdisciplinary perspective, the conference analyzes how translation practices engage with the demand for greater inclusivity, challenging traditional linguistic models and established strategies. Concrete case studies and emerging guidelines will be examined, highlighting the tensions between normative prescription and linguistic innovation, as well as the role of translation as a primary space for cultural mediation and social transformation.
