Reflecting on Blackness in the Caribbean context

The conference aims to explore the concept of Blackness in its historical, literary, artistic and translation-related dimensions, bringing together Anglophone and Francophone critical perspectives.
The objective is to examine the ways in which identity, memory and representation are articulated in the various contexts of the Americas, with a particular focus on the Caribbean and postcolonial dynamics.
The conference will bring together scholars of literature, history and translation, fostering a comparative and interdisciplinary approach.
Conference languages: English and French.
The event will open with a keynote lecture by Prof. Charles Forsdick (University of Cambridge).
