AN ALTERNATIVE CREATION MADE IN A SOCIALIST STATE – PUNK

AND NEW WAVE IN YUGOSLAVIA

with Aleksandar Zograf
After party live set by Lucretio

Serbian author Saša Rakezić, better known as Aleksandar Zograf, will present an overview of the punk and new wave scene that emerged in 1980s Yugoslavia following the death of Josip Broz Tito. Through slides, stories, and archival material, the talk will explore the rise of alternative youth culture and the bands that shaped an important creative and cultural movement shortly before the dissolution of the country.
Active since the late 1970s as a fanzine creator and music critic for Džuboks, the leading Yugoslav rock magazine, Zograf’s work connects comics, memory, and countercultural history.

The evening will continue with an after party and live performance by Lucretio (Restoration/Timeless).

Aleksandar Zograf (Saša Rakezić) is a Serbian cartoonist and illustrator internationally known for his autobiographical comics and graphic reportage exploring memory, everyday life, and the cultural history of former Yugoslavia.
Lucretio (Domenico Cipriani) is a music producer, live coder, and member of Analogue Cops. Active on the international electronic music scene for nearly two decades, he combines sound research, audio technologies, and live performance.
