Conference: Writing in Interaction: Practice and Research

The conference Écrits en interaction: pratiques et recherche, to be held on 12 and 13 October 2026 at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, will bring together researchers from Ca’ Foscari and Clermont Auvergne University to explore contemporary writing practices. The two-day event will combine pedagogical, sociolinguistic and technological perspectives on different forms of written interaction.
The presentations will address nonviolent communication in higher education, support for migrant learners, the sociolinguistic analysis of written interactions and the challenges of collaborative writing. A doctoral session will focus on the use of artificial intelligence in the teaching and learning of French as a foreign language, including feedback on written work, machine translation and conversational agents supporting written communication. The conference will conclude with a writing workshop for Ca’ Foscari students, providing a space for experimentation and discussion.
