FLASKS AND BEAKERS CHALLENGE

Laboratorio didattico di Chimica Organica, primo piano dell’Edificio Beta, Campus Scientifico, Mestre

Do you want to learn about advanced organic chemistry topics with implications in the pharmaceutical field?

Take part in the Flasks and Beakers Challenge, September 28-30 2026: an immersive and experimental learning experience designed to explore aspects of advanced Organic Chemistry with applications in the pharmaceutical sector, offered to 20 bachelor students.
An opportunity to acquire the scientific and professional approach necessary to tackle a multi-stage synthesis challenge involving the preparation of certain organic compounds, which are useful in the synthesis of certain types of bioactive molecules.
The Challenge will culminate in an award ceremony for the participant who achieves the highest score by undertaking a combination of experimental multi-stage synthesis activities and short scientific tests based on their experiments.

Registration is required via gform: https://forms.gle/KNpcsae3vEbxHi2f9
Deadline: 12:00h (Italian time), 09/18/2026.

Participants will be awarded an open badge recognising the skills and abilities they have acquired.

The Challenge is open to students enrolled for the academic year 2026/2027 in the Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry and Sustainable Technologies [CTR7/CT7] or in the first year of the Master's Degree in Chemistry and Sustainable Technologies [CMR7]  del Dipartimento di Scienze Molecolari e Nanosistemi and who hold the participation requirements included in the call.

The activity will be held in Italian.

Event organised by professors Fabrizio Fabris and Alessandro Scarso of the Department of Molecular Sciences and Nanosystems.
