SEMINAR | ADVANCES IN OUR UNDERSTANDING OF DECENT AND MEANINGFUL WORK

Monday, November 10, 2025, 2:00 PM–3:30 PM

Saraceno Room – Ca’ Foscari University of Venice

The Venice School of Management welcomes Prof. Ryan Duffy from the University of Florida, USA, for a presentation on decent and meaningful work.

Professor Duffy will draw from the recently developed Psychology of Working Theory framework to connect the emerging literature on decent work with the robust literature on meaningful work. The focus will be on the structural and psychological predictors of securing both decent and meaningful work.

Particular attention will be given to the evolving context of work (e.g., hybrid or remote modalities) to identify key challenges and specific conditions in promoting decent and meaningful work in these settings, and their implications for human resource management practices.

The event is funded by the European Union Next-GenerationEU as part of the PNRR.
