Seminar: Does Country of Origin Drive Climate-Risk Disclosure and Valuation? Evidence from the U.S. Market

June 29th, 2026 | 3:00 PM Campus San Giobbe, Aula Saraceno | Online via Zoom

The department hosts a seminar featuring Prof. Jonathan Jona (Assistant Professor of Accounting at the University of New Mexico). The study examines the market valuation of climate-risk disclosures for foreign firms listed in the U.S.

While prior research has heavily focused on domestic companies, this study investigates the overlooked "country-of-origin" effects. The findings show how country-level climate-risk metrics shape corporate disclosure and explore how investors evaluate the credibility of foreign firm reporting, often discounting firm value based on perceived reporting deficiencies or strategic disclosures.
