II -Disclosing the Wonder: The Impact of Aristotle’s Philosophy of Biology on Environmental Issues

online

SPIN 2024 WHERE | Seminar of Close Reading The Scientific Foundation  of the Study of Perishable Living Beings: PA I 1

The project aims to bring Aristotle's biological treatises to the center of the discussion on environmental ethics. The theme will be explored in the framework of a broader theoretical reassessment of Aristotle's biological corpus and his vision of the living realm. To this end, reading seminars will be organized dedicated to Aristotle's biological works and their potential impact on current views of the natural environment. The working methodology will consist in considering the texts in the light of the historical and cultural context, as well as of the exegetical debate and contemporary discussions.
