Mapping Diaspora: Voices, Practices, and Identities Beyond Borders

Auditorium Santa Margherita - Emanuele Severino

12 and 13 March 2026, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Curated by Giulia Gelmi and Anastasia Kozachenko-Stravinsky

Mapping Diaspora: Voices, Practices, and Identities Beyond Borders is a two-day seminar series bringing together artists and scholars from diverse cultural and disciplinary backgrounds to reflect on the contemporary condition of the Russian and Russian-speaking intellectual and artistic diaspora.

Organized by the Center for Studies on Russian, Central Asian and Caucasian Art (CSAR) of the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Heritage, the program explores—through an interdisciplinary dialogue—the trajectories of writers, scholars, performers, artists, and curators whose lives and work unfold beyond national borders.

The series takes place over two afternoons and is structured into four thematic sessions.
Each 90-minute session is organized as follows:

  • 30 minutes: academic presentation
  • 30 minutes: artistic contribution
  • 30 minutes: collective discussion

Each session is separated by a 15-minute break.

At the end of each day, a 30-minute video art screening extends and enriches the conversation.
The format is designed to foster ongoing exchange, critical reflection, and active participation.

Free admission. Program available on the poster.
