SONA. A SOUND WORK BY STEFANO CURTO AND SEBASTIAN MEYER - presentation

Scuola Grande di San Marco Sala San Domenico Campo Santi Giovanni e Paolo, Venezia

SONA is a sound work that investigates the deep relationship between living beings and water through sound. The sounds of SONA were collected over the course of three years in more than 15 locations around the world using sophisticated microphones. The performance lasts 34 minutes and takes place in an intimate, quiet space, where the sound composition surrounds the audience in a unique immersive listening experience.

6 October 2026 - ACT I - THOUGHT
Before listening, the questions

The presentation of SONA unfolds through a Talk in which art, science, philosophy and spirituality engage in dialogue around a shared theme: the way we perceive and listen to water and the more-than-human world. Artists Stefano Curto and Sebastian Meyer meet scholars, researchers, musicians, curators and institutional representatives to open a reflection that will guide the audience towards the SONA experience.
