Art and Cultural Heritage in Wartime Ukraine

Aula Baratto, Ca' Foscari - Dorsoduro 3246

Speaker: Natalia Moussienko, Vice- President of Europa Nostra

The lecture takes place in the frame of the European Heritage Hub project co-funded by the European Union.

Dr. Natalia Moussienko’s lecture will explore how art and cultural heritage in various forms have addressed this critical period in Ukraine’s history. Art has thrived in Ukraine amidst conflict and artists have documented the emotional journey of the war through their works. This artistic response to the war has global significance, resonating across fields like philosophy, art theory, sociology, history, and political science.

The lecture will be introduced by Prof. Tiziana Lippiello, Rector of Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, and Sneška Quaedvlieg-Mihailović, Secretary General of Europa Nostra. Prof. Monica Calcagno and Prof. Fabrizio Panozzo, both experts in cultural and creative management at the Venice School of Management, will also participate in this important discussion.

Due to limited capacity, the participation in this event is upon invitation only.
