The Department of Economics at Ca' Foscari wins the prestigious 2025 Marco Fanno PhD Research Grant
A major international recognition rewards the research excellence and educational offerings of the Department of Economics.
UniCredit Foundation has announced the winners of the 2025 edition of the Marco Fanno PhD Research Grant, and the Department of Economics at Ca' Foscari University of Venice is among the only two institutions selected nationwide, alongside the Department of Economics at Bocconi University in Milan.
The grant, awarded following a competitive selection process by the Foundation's Scientific Committee, recognizes our University's excellence in advanced economic research and the high-quality standards of our PhD program in Economics.
Thanks to this award, the Department will receive € 40,000 in funding. These resources will be fully invested to support research activities and further enhance doctoral training over the upcoming 2026/2027 and 2027/2028 academic years.
In line with the Department's strategic goals and the call for applications' requirements, the funds will be used to:
- Enrich the academic experience and curriculum of PhD students
- Incentivize and financially support international mobility
- Foster new opportunities for scientific collaboration with the world's most prestigious research centers
This milestone not only confirms the Department's international competitiveness but also serves as an exceptional accelerator for the growth and advancement of the next generation of economists being trained in our classrooms.
