Deconstructing China’s political narratives: a toolkit

Room A, Palazzo Vendramin Fondamenta Foscarini, Dorsoduro 3462, 30123 Venezia

In recent years, China’s leadership has developed a more assertive approach and new ways of communicating at home and abroad. The workshop aims to provide a toolkit necessary to disentangle and analyse China’s official narratives and the ideologies and rationale behind them. Thanks to the participation of leading experts in the fields of China’s history, political communication, public diplomacy, propaganda and disinformation, and the partnership with China Files, the workshop will shed light on the contents and strategies of China’s official communication on a number of crucial and critical issues. This initiative is part of a one-year project “Countering Chinese disinformation in Italy” carried out by IAI with the support of the U.S. Mission to Italy through its 2022 Annual Program Statement grant program.
