Archaeologists from Space in Postioma

Archaeologists from Space initiative today at Postioma (Treviso)

Yesterday and today Dr Arianna Traviglia and her colleague Dr Claudio Silvestri (DAIS, UniVe) have visited the On. Visentin Primary School in Postioma (Treviso) as part of the Archaeologists from Space' initiative activities. Training was provided to one 3rd degree, two 4th degree and two 5th degree classes of the school across the two days. The young trainees have learned how to use Google Earth Pro tools to identify, locate and map buried archaeological sites and understood the principles underpinning the appeareance of archaeological features on remotely sensed imagery.

The collaboration of BAS (Scientific Area Library) of the University Ca' Foscari of Venice was again crucial to ensure the smooth execution of the activity: BAS provided the laptops used by the students to identify archaeological sites. Many thanks to BAS's Director Alessandra Zorzi and her collaborators for the kind support.
