Activities
Practice. Single and Group work based on text written by students before the course. Finding titles. From a short text (ca. 50 words) to a tweet. Practicing on use of analogies, metaphors. Practicing on tone, style to address different publics. Working on titles. Find visual for your text, prepare a pic description. Prepare files for sending. Understand how internal offices offer media support to scientists. Individual coach and practice in answering to an interview. Interview video‐recorded for students self‐evaluation.
Goals. Understand the media and how it operates. Introduce to principles of message‐design to address the media. Understand the press release format. Turning complex concepts into clear and attractive messages for the media. Titles to grab attention. Understand the duties of the internal Public Information Officers.
