Sabrina Fabris
Chemical graduate technician

Tell us about yourself and how you got here at Ca' Foscari, and in the department where you work.
After graduating from Ca' Foscari in industrial chemistry and earning a PhD in chemical sciences, I decided to keep working at the university as a scientific technician because the world of research fascinated me.

What do you do in your job at the department?
My job has changed a lot over the years; at the moment I support teaching laboratories by assisting students during practical tests and by managing and organising the laboratory and its equipment (including purchases) so that it is always functional for all the different courses. I am part of the civic engagement team that takes science outreach to schools and organises events on campus. I also help manage and distribute chemicals and lab consumables for the whole department. A completely different part of my job is managing the department's website and Instagram profile.

What is one aspect of your job that gives you great satisfaction?
One of the aspects of my work that gives me particular satisfaction is helping students perform practical exercises in the analytical chemistry lab and to use the scientific equipment in the instrumental analytical chemistry lab correctly, addressing any doubts that arise together.
