Global Warming: Hot Air or a Real Threat With No Solution?

Campus Scientifico via Torino - edificio ALFA, Sala Conferenze

Prof. Jorg Imberger, Professor (Adjunct), RSMAS, University of Miami, Florida, USA

Abstract:
Global warming has been elevated to a religious icon of the devil. This allows us to blame all and sundry on the devil, feel righteous and do nothing useful. Western Australia is globally in a uniquely fortunate situation. We can easily become totally carbon neutral, water self sufficient and financially wealthy, all while preserving and enjoying that wonderful biodiversity that resides in our State. The only question, in my own mind is, whether we have the courage to take advantage of this fortunate situation.
