Ca' Foscari, aula Baratto
28-30 September 2020
Salve Regina. New Approaches on Marian Devotion from the Middle Ages to the Council of Trent brings together experts from more than fifteen countries to share their research focused on Marian devotion during a three-day conference. Hosted by Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, Departments of Humanities and Department of Philosophy and Cultural Heritage, the conference seeks to explore and offer an overview on Marian cult in the Middle Ages in the light of current debates and approaches. It focuses on the emergence of Marian devotion and its interactions with religious, social, and cultural factors that determined both the evolution and the rise of Mary as a prominent figure throughout the Middle Ages until the Council of Trent.
