How to Navigate the Job Hunting Market as a Foreign Person in Japan

Online

Phong Luân Cao, Emunitas Inc.

Abstract: This session will provide a practical overview of Japan’s unique job-hunting landscape, tailored especially for international students. We will explore how foreign talent can bring value to Japanese companies, what cultural and professional expectations exist, and how to position oneself effectively in a competitive environment. The talk will also cover essential topics such as writing a strong rirekisho (Japanese CV), communicating with potential employers, and navigating both traditional and modern recruitment channels. Drawing on real-world examples from Emunitas’ experience supporting international professionals in Japan, the session aims to equip attendees with actionable insights, realistic expectations, and a clearer roadmap toward internships or full-time roles in Japan.
