Ensemble Bezmârâ Ajamlar: compositori persiani alla corte ottomana tra XVII e XVIII secolo

Second concert organized by the "maqām Beyond Nation" research project. The Ensemble Bezmârâ, directed by Fikret Karakaya and active since the mid 1990s, focuses on repertoires of ancient Ottoman music, performed on instruments of the time period. The programme features a series of compositions attributed to Persian or Azerbaijani musicians known as ajamlar, which we find in transcriptions by Woichiech ‘Ali Ufukî Bobowski, Demetrius Cantemir and Nâyi Mustafa Kevserî.
